I love genealogy and family history. It has been a hobby of mine for years, though it fell to the wayside since having children....and the priorities therein. I recently found out my uncle has been working on information too since his retirement, and I have really enjoyed emailing him and learning more about the family.
We have a unique family history in that we have photographs dating back to the 1800s of family members and so much of our history has been captured visually. The side of the family I am currently researching is on my mother's side and they came from Kentucky.

ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure to learn more about your genealogy and family history. My advice is to learn all you can. I love the picture of the little homestead.
I always have felt I was born too late. I like old, vintage, things and vintage people as well. :) My father's family is all gone and I have lost a legacy. My father's mother left them when he was 5 and I just picked up her trail about a year ago. She married wealthy, but had no other children and so her story ended soon. My father would be 92 today. My mother's parents are also gone but I do have my MOM and boy do I ask the questions. Trouble is she's forgotten a lot. So document all you can!
